Questions
Is it free?
No. There's no upfront cost, and you pay a monthly lease payment instead.
Do I need to plan to stay?
It's best for homeowners who plan to stay long term. A lease runs 25 years, and your monthly payment stays the same the whole time. If you sell, the lease can be transferred to the next homeowner.
Will my payment go up?
No. Your monthly lease payment is locked for all 25 years.
Will my lease payment be more than my electric bill?
On a standard lease, no. The financing won't approve a monthly lease payment higher than your electric bill at the time you sign, and every lease includes a power production guarantee. If you add the optional backup battery, your payment can be higher.
Who owns and maintains the system?
Our financing partner, LightReach, owns the system. Solarsimple installs it. Maintenance is included in your lease and is handled by a certified LightReach contractor. Your lease agreement spells out the full terms.
Does it check credit?
Yes. A credit score of 650 or higher is required.
